A close neighbor is better than a far-away brother, Shaaban said in an interview with Iranian Ofogh TV, IRNA reported on Monday.
As the advisor noted, Syria’s relations with Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon are more important than its ties with countries which are thousands of kilometers away from Damascus.
Speaking about lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani who was assassinated by the US forces in Iraq in January 2020, the Syrian advisor said that her country needed the former Qods Force commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) to conquer the enemies.
Syria will not forget General Soleimani’s sacrifices, she added.
Referring to the terrorists’ activities aimed at destroying cultural heritage of Syria, the advisor said the terrorists did not think that the Syrian people could stand against them with the help of Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia.
After their failure in defeating the Resistance, they mounted economic war, she said, adding that they will surely be unsuccessful in the war.
US interference in Syria and the region is illegitimate.
